Sirhowy, Tredegar

We helped deliver this project for our client United Welsh Housing Association, which provided 23 new affordable homes to the area of Tredegar. They consisted of one and two bed apartments and two and three bed houses.

The scheme was extremely challenging, as it was situated on an old school site, the ground required remediation and grubbing up of existing foundations, due to the land contamination. The scheme comprised RC raft foundations, which required rotating and imported / compacted stone.

Careful traffic management was of upmost importance, as the site was situated within the middle of an existing housing estate, and was also adjacent to a busy road which was in continuous in use.

During the construction phase we worked closely with our client to help provide locally based site employment to the site and also aided in the visit of the local Primary School a number of times, who came to learn about a construction site.
